Old Panteleimonas is a traditional settlement worth visiting, located on the slopes of Lower Olympus, at an altitude of about 440 meters, offering breathtaking views of the Thermaic Gulf and the shores of Pieria. It is a living example of Macedonian architecture and has been declared a preserved settlement.
History and Atmosphere
The settlement was abandoned in the 1950s, as its inhabitants were relocated to New Panteleimonas. However, in recent decades, Old Panteleimonas has been revived, with many of its stone houses restored, now mostly housing cafés and tavernas. The traditional character is fully maintained, with cobbled alleys, stone fountains, and tiled roofs that create a sense of returning to the past.

Walk the Streets
The cobbled alleys are perfect for relaxed walks. You can enjoy the village’s enchanting architecture and beautifully decorated houses.
Visit the Central Square
At the heart of the village lies the square with the imposing plane tree and the traditional church of Saint Panteleimon. Here, the tavernas serve local delicacies like handmade pies, local wine, and tsipouro.
